The 2016 Toyota Highlander will come to the market slightly redesigned. Toyota engineers will apply only minor changes on its outside look. Reason for that is that this Toyota midsize SUV was recently completely redesigned. Main changes will be on its front fascia where the new 2016 Highlander will feature new stronger bumper with integrated foglights. New headlights with integrated daytime lights will have more angular style that will give to new Highlander more aggressive and muscular look. It will feature new color styles beside it standard offers. Inside the cabin there will be more space for all eight passengers. Standard equipment in the new Toyota Highlander 2016 will be 18“ alloy wheels, cruise control, backup camera with parking assist, heated exterior mirrors, reclining and sliding 60/40 split second row seat, folded 60/40 split rear row seat, automatic headlights, privacy glass, steering wheel with remote controls and tilt/telescoping availability, infotainment system with 6.1” touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, audio system with CD player and 6-speaker system, heated seats, USB port. There will be available and plenty safety features like hill assist control, rear cross traffics, blind spot monitoring system, antilock brake system, pre-collision system, automatic cruise control. Higher trim levels offer more luxurious details like panoramic sunroof, JBL premium audio system with 12 speakers, leather upholstery, and high-quality wooden details.

The 2016 Toyota Highlander will get power from same engines as the current model. Base engine will be 2.7-liter 4-cylinder that is able to produce 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Second, bigger engine will be 3.5-liter V-6 that delivers 270 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. Both these engines will be paired with 6-speed ECT automatic transmission. This will help this midsize SUV to gain better performance and fuel economy. If we consider that the upcoming Toyota Highlander 2016 will use same engines as its predecessor it will also have similar fuel efficiency that is rated at 22 mpg (4-inline, FWD), 21 mpg (V-6, FWD) and 20 mpg (V-6, AWD). It will have towing capacity newar 5,000 pounds.

We can expect to see 2016 Toyota Highlander concept vehicle in summer 2015 and its production at the end of 2015 or early 2016. Price for this midsize SUV shouldn’t be too much different than the current model. That means that Toyota Highlander 2016 base model should cost around $30,000.
