The 2016 Scion FRS is 4th generation of this model and its prototype was already spotted in Germany. It will come with new lightweight materials that will enhanced its performance and improve handling. With premium interior details and used materials it should be great toy for all fans of small sporty cars. There are some rumors about Scion FRS 2016 hybrid, but it will be available few months after release of regular model.

The design of the next 2016 Scion FRS will not change drastically. This fourth generation will keep its aggressive look. Muscular bodyline and redesigned headlights will be something that will be recognizable for this model. With reduced bodyweight and great aerodynamics it will have better handling and great performances. With exterior dimensions of 187”/70”/55” (length/width/height) the new Scion FRS 2016 will be similar to the Subaru BRZ. It will be available as a coupe and convertible. When we talk about colors we can expect one or two additional color choices beside previous seven.
Interior the 2016 Scion FRS cabin will be performance-focused. There will be carbon fiber look for the interior panel materials and two gauges will be also available: digital and analog. Leather-trimmed steering wheel and low-mounted front seats will give dose of luxury for its owners. Rear seats will be able to fold flat, which will make more space for enhanced functionality. The Scion FRS 2016 feature some standard equipment such as: Audio system with 6.1” LCD touchscreen, USB connectivity, HD radio, 8-speaker sound system, satellite navigation.

We probably won’t see any news under the hood of the new 2016 Scion FRS. It will come with rear-wheel-drive system and it will be powered by a 2.0-liter flat four engine that will be able to deliver 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Like its cousin, Subaru BRZ, the new FRS will have low center of gravity which will result on better handling. Just like the BRZ, new 2016 FRS turbo could have 2.5-liter flat 6 with 295 horsepower. Lightweight body and rigid front suspension also enhanced driving experience. Just like before, future owners of the new Scion FRS 2016 will be able to choose between 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted on steering wheel.
2016 Scion FRS release date and price
We expect that the new Scion FRS 2016 will present in the fall of the 2015, probably at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 in October 2015. The base model with the manual transmission should have price tag just under $26,000 while the 2016 Scion FRS with automatic transmission should cost $1,000 more.
