The 2016 Lexus GS is a midsize sedan that’s part of Toyotas luxurious division line up. This vehicle was known in Japan as Toyota Aristo since its release until 2005, when number of Toyota vehicles sold on Japanese market switched to Lexus badge. First model came out in 1991 and it was developed from Italdesign Giluigiaro drawings from 1988. That’s the reason why this vehicle received much more European influenced design, unlike most of the other Japanese mid-size sedans that were sold at that time. In Lexus range this sedan is placed between entry level IS and flagship LS luxury sedan. It is based on one of the long lasting Toyota platforms called S platform, same as multiple generations of Toyota Crown sedans, although the first GS model was based on Toyota N platform. The Lexus GS 2016 had its F premiere at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show where we saw the F version that is rated at 500 horsepower.
2016 Lexus GS redesign
The design of the regular Lexus GS 2016 model will probably have similar exterior design as unveiled GS F, minus the big F letter on front fascia and some racy details made for high performance version only. F version is going to come with powerful looking quad exhaust pipes, that only come with Lexus sport oriented models, and since the pipes are going to be placed on two different sides of the rear end, they will come with a diffuser in between. It will also come with a fancy spoiler on the trunk lid, which usually comes with high performance vehicles and limited edition models. There’s still no information about the interior design, layout, features or anything else for that matter from inside of the cabin. We expect that the F model will receive Recarro seats, and some other sporty features. Regular GS will come with leather upholstery, heated seats and ventilated front seats and Toyota Entune infotainment system with bunch of connectivity applications.
Lexus GS 2016 review
The upcoming Lexus GS 2016 will be three engine options. The base 3.5-liter V6 engine will be under the hood of the 2016 Lexus GS 350 model and it will be able to produce around 310 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The 450 h model will also be available with same base engine but combined with electric motors. This combination will produce around 340 total horsepower but it will have better fuel efficiency that will be rated little better than current model and it should be around 30 mpg combined.
2016 Lexus GS release date and price

The release date is still unknown but we expect that next Lexus GS 2016 will be presented to public in summer of 2015 while it will come to Lexus dealerships in late 2015.
