The 2015 Toyota 4Runner is successor of its fifth generation that was presented on September 2009. This midsize SUV comes with body-on-frame platform which gives it great off-road capabilities. The Toyota 4Runner 2015 comes with only one powerplant but it offers a number of packages and trim levels from base SR5 to rugged TRD Pro Series.

The new 2015 Toyota 4Runner comes on rugged body-on-frame construction. The design of the front fascia of this Toyota midsize SUV includes a muscular grille and smoked headlights. All models come with projector beam headlights and LED taillights, while 17-inch alloy wheels are standard. There are a lot of chromed details like a grille insert, front bumper, side molding, roof rack and rear bumper. The Toyota 4Runner 2015 is available in six trim levels: base SR5, SR5 Premium, Trail, Trail Premium, Limited and TRD Pro Series. There are eight different colors available: Nautical Blue Metallic, Super White, Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Attitude Black Metallic, Barcelona Red Metallic and Inferno.

Some trim levels, like SR5 and Limited, are available with third-row seats which allow up to 7 passenger SUV capacity. With folded second row of seats the cargo area from jumps from 47.2 cu. ft. up to 89.7 cu. ft. The 2015 Toyota 4Runner cabin is roomy and versatile with large center console. Standard equipment features air conditioning with rear seat vents, power-sliding liftgate window, backup camera, Optitron instrument panel and multi-information display. Optional equipment is rich, and it includes SofTex- and leather-trimmed heated seats, power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, Smart Key system with push start/stop button and front and rear clearance sonar system.

When it comes to multimedia there is Entune Audio Plus for base models which feature an AM/FM/MP3 CD player with eight speakers, satellite radio, a USB port with iPod connectivity, Bluetooth hands-free phone capability and music streaming. The Limited trim levels get the Entune Premium JBL Audio system that also includes HD Radio with iTunes tagging and 15 speakers and navigation which uses a large 7-inch display.

The Toyota 4Runner 2015 comes only with 4.0-liter V6 powerplant with VVT-i technology. This engine produces 270 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 278 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm and it is paired with a 5-speed ECT-i automatic transmission. Base models come with 2WD with par-time 4WD with a 2-speed transfer case while full-time multi-mode 4WD with a 2-speed transfer case and locking center differential is available only as an option. Higher trim levels come only with full-time 4WD system. When properly equipped the 2015 Toyota 4Runner towing capacity is rated at 4,700 pounds.
